Program Over View

Karuna School of Nursing offers students the opportunity to be active participants in a nationally accredited educational program. The educational program combines class room and clinical experiences that are responsive to student needs and interests as well as to program goals. Students participate actively in the process of teaching and learning. Their varied experiences and knowledge are integrated into the educational process through the faculty's use of interactive teaching, web-enhanced learning, seminars, tutorials and the case study method. Academic preparation for students must be consistent with the status and demands of the profession and healthcare delivery system in which nurses' practice. To this end, the nursing program is committed to educate students both as generalied and advanced practice nurses.

Objectives

The primary goal of the curriculum is to provide students with specialized education in primary health care nursing and the foundation necessary for scholarly inquiry, clinical excellence, research and leadership.
